This page explains how to request deletion of your Yetu Health account (the mobile app published by Yetu Health) and the data associated with it.
Option 1 — Delete from within the app
- Open the Yetu Health app and sign in.
- Go to Profile.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Read the disclosure, confirm your identity (your password or a one-time
SMS code), and type
DELETEto confirm.
Your account is deactivated immediately and you are signed out. Deletion is finalised after a 30‑day grace period, during which you can cancel using the link in the confirmation email we send you.
Option 2 — Request by email
If you cannot access the app, email support@yetuhealth.com from the email address on your account, with the subject “Account deletion request”. We will verify your identity and process the request within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Your name, email address, phone number, profile photo and login credentials.
- Your saved documents in the in-app document locker (lab results, scans, insurance documents and other files you uploaded).
- Device and session data, push-notification tokens and marketing preferences.
- Access you had granted to healthcare providers is revoked.
What is retained, and for how long
Some records cannot be deleted immediately because we are legally required to keep them. Where we retain these records after your account is deleted, they are no longer linked to your identifying profile.
| Data | Reason | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| Medical and clinical records tied to care you received (consultations, prescriptions, lab results, referrals) | Ugandan health records-retention law and medical-practice regulations | Retained as required by law; not linked to your identity where possible |
| Financial records (invoices, payments, receipts) | Tax and accounting law | Retained for the statutory period (currently 7 years) |
| Fraud, security and audit logs | Platform safety and legal compliance | Retained for the period required for those purposes |
Before you delete
A deletion request cannot be completed while you have activity in progress — an ongoing consultation, an unpaid invoice, an undelivered pharmacy order, or a lab test still being processed. Please resolve these first; the app will tell you which items are outstanding.
